Aduna Updates AutoFocus Visual Desktop Search
posted by Editor on Wednesday January 05, @04:51PM
Search Interfaces Christiaan Fluit writes "Aduna recently released AutoFocus 2004.2, a tool for visual desktop search. AutoFocus uses the Cluster Map to visualize the results of search terms, as explained in an earlier Nooface posting. This new version features various types of faceted navigation, meaning that you search along several information dimensions, such as authors, location, dates, etc., as well as through regular full-text search. See the screenshot gallery for examples. Furthermore, enterprises can transparently combine desktop search with enterprise search through the use of the Aduna Metadata Server. This server is build upon Semantic Web standards (RDF, Sesame), resulting in a great potential for integration in enterprise environments. AutoFocus is free for private use. The Metadata Server is free for all uses."
