Gesture Interface For 3D Volumetric Displays
posted by Editor on Monday January 03, @04:38PM
Gesture Interfaces Mindflux sends this article in Technology Research News about interfaces that allow direct gestural interaction with virtual objects contained in volumetric displays, in which output occupies a volume of space, like a crystal ball. The interface uses 2D menus projected onto the surface of the display and a browser for selecting 3D objects that can be used to construct models. This paper reviews the design in depth, and received the Best Paper award at the 2004 ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology.
