This article in PC Magazine reviews BluePAD, a new device from Greenbell Systems that combines an Internet appliance and a TV tuner in a system that can be used docked or as a mobile tablet-style device (see picture). When undocked, the device can be used as a tablet PC, with the ability to view Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, digital images, and PDF files. It also has Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Media Player, and MSN Messenger, as well as a Windows CE version of WordPad for creating and editing text documents. When docked, the device can be used as a flat-screen TV set. It also supports embedded real-time Linux 2.4 as an operating system. Here are some possible applications.

My mind is very much on this device, but I would need:
lower, more realistic price. With the lowering prices of LCD displays lately, there's no excuse for the BluePAD to be so pricey.
capability to see Flash animated sites, gif animations, streaming video, you get the idea...
Otherwise I think the BluePAD is extremely attractive. Hope it actually materializes.
