Unstructured Data Management Tools Help To Find Context
posted by Editor on Wednesday March 05, @10:41PM
Search Interfaces This article in InfoWorld discusses several tools that help to identify entities such as people, product names, and places buried deep in text data and analyze relationships between them. These extraction tools complement search engines by helping to improve the relevancy of results. Some of the products mentioned include Recommind's MindServer, which automatically maps structured and unstructured information into an information structure (taxonomy, ontology, subject heading classification structure), and Inxight Software's SmartDiscovery, which extracts metatext from documents, automatically classifies and analyzes unstructured text data, and presents it in a visual environment.
