Shared Zoomable Canvas
posted by Editor on Monday June 10, @07:51PM
The Evolving Web Looking Glass is an infinitely large virtual whiteboard that can be shared by multiple users over the Web. The shared space is implemented as a zoomable canvas called a "Zanvas". When users visit a Zanvas, their icons appear on the screen. They can then use the Zanvas to create shared content on the fly using text editors, drawing tools, and images that are dragged and dropped into the environment (see screenshot). There are two ways to access a Zanvas: through the proprietary Zanvas interactive browser, which provides full control (including pan/zoom, drag-and-drop, click-and-type, drawing etc.), or through a standard browser, which provides basic point-and-click and zooming capabilities. A 60-day trial version can be downloaded, and there is Flash Demo.
