Layoffs At Xybernaut
posted by Editor on Tuesday April 02, @11:10PM
Wearable Computer Interfaces Xybernaut, the leading manufacturer of wearable computing hardware, is laying off 15-20% of its workforce, according to this press release. The company hopes that the actions will result in annualized savings of between $12 and $20 million. Xybernaut will now focus on extending and replicating its success with governmental customers and corporate accounts such as Bell Canada, FedEx, American Trans Air. As was recently pointed out in this article, wearable computers that are acceptably comfortable for consumers are still at least two years away, so it could be some time before the mass market really opens up to companies like Xybernaut.
