Rendering Effective Route Maps
posted by Editor on Thursday October 25, @10:28AM
Geographic Interfaces NerfChess writes "LineDrive is some interesting new technology for designing and rendering route maps. It uses a variety of visualization techniques such as generalization and distortion to improve route map usability. The system was developed by folks at the Stanford Computer Graphics Lab, and was described in this paper at SIGGRAPH 2001; the technology is now integrated with the online driving directions service at MapBlast!."
